Battle Monument of King Hendrick and Sir William Johnson

The monument stands on the site of the second engagement of the Battle of
Lake George (1755). The statue illustrates the incident of the Mohawk
chief, King Hendrick, demonstrating to General William Johnson the danger of
dividing his favors. The monument was erected by the Society of Colonial
Wars in the State of New York. Money for its construction was raised
through a subscription in 1897-98.
